Zak Mascolo for Lost Hairdressers

Hello everyone, I am proud to present our latest video featuring Zak Mascolo, Creative Director of Toni&Guy US. The goal of the video was to get down to the basics with Zak, why he wanted to do hair, how he was inspired, as well as his struggles. Within our creative industry, there are times where we tend to second guess ourselves, and that seems to run hand in hand with knowing, without a doubt, that we wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. Zak, who’s father is the late, great, Guy Mascolo, grew up in a world where his path seemed to already be laid out for him, but he had to find his own voice, his own path, and his own inspiration.

What I love about Toni&Guy is that while they have sold elements of their company, they still remain, at their core, a family run company. Whether you like their techniques or not, they have maintained their style, they do it well, and they make it fun.

With that in mind, we are presenting a modest little contest on Instagram @losthairdressers. We want you to show us your favorite inspired haircut. We also would like you to write something telling us what your inspiration is and how your haircut represents this. We are all about thinking outside of the box, we are all about photography, we are all about heartfelt perspectives. Lost Hairdressers is here to inspire, and hopefully we’ve given you a little bit of inspiration over the past couple of years.

Whoever inspires us enough to win this contest, will win a copy of the new Toni&Guy collection and DVD “Divert”

The rules are simple:

1. Post your work with your notes of inspiration, tag @losthairdressers and @officialtoniguy #losthairdressers

2. Like us on Facebook. www.facebook.com/losthairdressers

3. Repost the video on FB.

The contest ends 12-15-2013

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s work!
