Today I have worked backstage at Diana Orving SS15 at Fashion Week Stockholm! Diana is very inspired by strong women and cool personalities around her, which she also used in the show instead of professional models. Just for today’s viewing, she also decided to take it even a step further and only featured women with ethnic background! All for an extra eye-opener for the upcoming swedish election and positions.
For my part, I experienced it as a very different view of working. Partly because it was in fact “ordinary” people instead of models, no girl had the same look – they all had their natural hair (with the touch of fashion and us stylist of course), and the entire display was breathing a lot more personality and playfulness than usual.You can almost see this in the pictures below! A clearly inspiring day with lots of lovely strong women! PLUS – working in a scandinavian country with mostly blonde, fine straigth hair, I appreciated todays little afro-101-class from the lovely curly models!
