Lost Hairdressers is Looking for Like Minded People

We recently put a post up on our Facebook/Instagram/Tumblr pages about getting like minded people to become contributors for the website.

Lost Hairdressers is here for a particular demographic. People who want more out of the industry and who want our industry to have the level of respect it deserves. Far too long, especially in the Unites States, our career choice has been looked down upon. Even my own mother scoffed at the idea of her son being a hairdresser. Ever wonder why it’s like this? Why is it a respected career path in Europe, but in the states it’s widely considered a choice for people who can’t cut it (no pun intended) in college. The very people who scoff at our career are the ones in our chairs once a month, confiding in us, asking us where we like to eat, where we like to go out, all the while flipping through fashion magazines, admiring our work. What’s the problem here? Perhaps the problem is the way our industry is perceived attracts the sort of people that tend to manifest this unfortunate reality. This website isn’t for those people. It is here to push things forward and assist in adding a level of depth and respect, along with like minded individuals and companies. I know you guys are out there. I know you have great ideas. Lets come together and make something different.

Our website is young. There is a lot of room for ideas and suggestions. You can email losthairdressers@gmail.com. If you have an idea, or you would like to contribute a story or article. Everything will be considered. Looking forward to hearing from you.

  1. Great post – I’d love to get involved! Our site http://appointedd.com/ has exactly the same aims, and we also give salons and freelance stylists access to free tools to allow them to manage their schedule and take bookings online. Maybe there’s some opportunity to collaborate? Leah x
